TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT
Central to Scotch Bonnet Catering are our plans for providing a range of volunteering, training and job opportunities for people with mental health needs and learning difficulties.

Through the enterprise, we believe that we can provide a range of opportunities for involvement, which will enable individuals to gain valuable skills and experience, opening up new opportunities and increasing independence. We believe that this process is much more than simply providing training, but also enabling people to build their confidence and self-esteem by practicing their skills within a supportive environment.

Having recently moved to larger premises in Brixton, we are now in an ideal position to begin creating opportunities for involvement. Opportunities will include:
o Trainee Catering Assistants, with individually tailored schemes lasting for 6 – 12 months, including accredited catering training and a focus on future employment in the catering sector, perhaps within Scotch Bonnet.

o Drivers for the Scotch Bonnet delivery van – delivering meals and buffets across London.
o Waiting on guests and serving at Scotch Bonnet buffets.
o Marketing the enterprise, including advertising buffet services and meeting potential customers.
o Involvement in the service user run café at the Fanon Resource Centre – serving Scotch Bonnet meals, cashier duties and involvement in business planning, including pricing and advertising.
